Magic Inn

Magic Inn is a mixture of Simulation, DeckBuilder and RPG. Think of it as adding Slack the Spire card mechanics to Animal Crossing. You are an Inn owner in a fantasy, magical world and you have magic powers. Your day to day is to manage a small Inn providing services to the customers, while using magics for the good of serving people.

The core idea of Magic Inn, is allowing you to manage relationship network in the world. As an Inn owner, you have the unique opportunity of meeting everyone from different social class, and selectively build relationships with them. These relationships are resources that the you can utilize to achieve greater things. We reinvented the dialogue system as a deckbuilder card game that the player can play and strategize during conversation. Over the course of the game, you can gain new cards from skill upgrade or from NPCs, and customize your deck when talking to different NPCs.

The NPC customers coming to the Inn are connected to the world and each of them is unique in their own ways. We have Farmers, Guards, Bandits, Lords, Adventurers, etc. By interacting and building relationships with them, you slowly accumulate connections by helping each other, gaining reputations and eventually you can climb the social ladder. All of the information about the NPCs and the world are shown through a world map. The map is designed to be a 2D hexagon style with high changeability, aiming to show how a player's decision can impact every NPC in the world.

Finally, the magic spells you can use to manage the Inn and skills you gained, provides some juicy and interesting gameplay that keep you interested to invest in longer term strategies.
